The School Library Association of Victoria is offering the following professional development opportunity.
The workshop will have minimum and maximum number limits and will only run if we have adequate numbers.
All levels of library professional and volunteers are welcome.
Learn how to keep your books looking good for longer using a variety of covering materials. Using simple repair techniques give old favourites a new lease on life.
This is a hands-on workshop using library-specific covering and mending materials led by school library staff. We will share ideas and approaches to covering and discuss the various ways schools address covering decisions.
All covering materials supplied. We will have some books for practice available, but please do bring your own too. Bring along covering challenges – approaches to be discussed.
We will also look at ways to fold and work with discarded books to create sculptures and objects of interest for use in displays and promotions.
